Program description:
Spanish Language Program
The course of Spanish as a foreign language at the Instituto de Lenguas y Culturas Extranjeras, in the institutional framework of the Universidad Santo Tomas at Bucaramanga, is aimed at enabling the development of the communicative competence in Spanish to allow learners a communicative interaction across cultures effectively with Spanish speakers. It is therefore important to promote social integration among the participants themselves and with native speakers, to promote and encourage intercultural communication through the appreciation of other cultures, particularly, the Hispanic.
Program aimed at: This program has been designed for students who are 17 years old or above without any previous language requirement. The program consists of five cycles which are divided into fifteen levels. Each level is forty-five hours of classroom study divided into 12 hours a week.
Levels: The theoretical framework of the Instituto de Lenguas y Culturas Extranjeras is designed based upon the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, so that the contents are categorized by levels and skills for the study of the language.
Spanish Program:
A1: Elementary - Access
A2: Pre-Intermediate - Platform
B1: Low Intermediate - Threshold
B2: Intermediate - Advanced
C1: Upper Intermediate - Effective Use
Hourly intensity: Intensive courses
Two levels - (90 hours) - 3 hours daily from Monday to Thursday

Associated services: Participants of the institutional academic mobility program which are part of the ELE students can participate in the activities that are part of the portfolio of services MUEVETE USTA for the comprehensive development of the entire university community, like all academic and cultural activities driven by the Bureau of International Relations (ORI) and other academic units to which they are attached to and which are performed during the development of the academic semester.
Requirements for registration: - Pay the corresponding registration fee
- Take the classification test and / or diagnostic test
- Collect their registration order (Polígrafo)
- Pay the corresponding tuition fees
- To be aware of the undergraduate student regulations
